Services were conducted today at Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington for Lloyd Basil Abernathy Jr., 32, of 1702 E. Wabash Ave., an employee of R. R. Donnelley & Sons Co., who was found dead in the rear of his pickup truck in the 200 block of East Pike Street Saturday evening. Montgomery County Coroner Russell Powers said Mr. Abernathy took his own life. He was born here on June 17, 1944, a son of Lloyd and Martha Newnum Abernathy. He was married to Susan Blair, who survives. Other survivors are two sons, Rodney and Todd at home; his parents of Covington; and a grandmother, Elizabeth Abernathy, also of Covington. He was preceded in death by a daughter. -– jlr
